Funding Opportunities

There are four types of funding which joint projects should consider:

EU and International sources

It is absolutely vital that you read the guidelines closely - and if necessary bend what you are doing to meet them. However, it's alweays better to look at where the money is and design your project to meet the guidelines from the start.

Bilateral funding sources

These exist usually where there is a political imperative, such as Commonwealth, Franco German, German/Polish, Know-How, or several British Council schemes. They come and go, so up to date information is important.

National resources

There are often schemes based on lottery money, though by examining the cnature of the project you may source specific funds for arts, churches, sport, health, languages etc

Local funds

Obviously there are local councils (Borough, Parish or even County in England). Local businesses have been significant contributors. Local organisatrions like Rotary and local Trusts. You should not neglect the fact that if your activity is popular you can attract an income (tickets in advance?) or charges (eg for transport).
